Artist's Comments

This is the flipped version of the photo I just posted, I posted this back in July, but in B&W. I never felt the B&W version was very good and can't seem to get it right... so I'm trying again just leaving it in color.

I think this one has a more abstract feel. I think I like the orignial better, but this one is kind of cool too. Feedback would be GREAT!

I've been digging through my folders as the end of the year is approaching! Hope everyone is having awesome holidays!

I love this shot. The light across the boy's face and the shine in his eyes and hair against the blue is so beautiful. His eyes are deep and intense. That most of the shot is reflected makes it look. . . I don't know what, glassy? Surreal, and smooth. The far off look in his eyes makes you wonder what he's watching, and that little smile. I looked at the un-flipped version, and that to me makes more sense. However, when it is flipped, it focuses your eyes on the boy because he's not upside down. So I like it that way, too. ^^ The only thing that bothers me a bit (and only a teeny bit) in the flipped version are the feet. They don't seem to match up with the reflection as well as when it's un-flipped. The more I look at it, though, the more I like it and the more it makes sense. Overall, I absolutely adore this shot. He reminds me of Peter Pan, as if he could be flying. Wonderful.

Great critique... I agree with you all around, which is why I can't decide which I like better. Either way, they both remind me of Peter Pan or one of the Lost Boys!

I like the color version better. You're right about this one def. having a more abstract feel. I REALLY like this picture, I'm really drawn to it. The texture and everything...it's all fantastic. The transition from his real feet to his reflection is so mirrored and perfect.. Great photo!

Are we what is obvious or are we what is just on and below the surface? The reflection being on top is symbolic of the deeper meaning. I think this is the more intriguing comp of the two. Nicely done. :D
