Artist's Comments

My husband doing what he loves to do. Taken in October with the available light in the room (taken at night with no flash).

People are always asking about him.... so here he is. This is my current desktop.

These are some extremely cool shots. I love the way it's focused and the black and white compliments everything perfectly. Also, I have to say I adore the way it's so clear that you're husband is into what he's doing, he loves it.
I hope I'm not being nosy or offensive by asking you the question to follow, but it seems I've always lacked tact a bit that way. Why gain it now: Do you ever run into problems because of you and your husband's race? It seems that a good number of people I know who date outside of their race frequently get some sort of grief from their family, etc. I wondered if you've came across the same problems.

We've had our issues in the past... mostly with family, but since having our first son most of that has diminished. Once my family saw my son and realized how amazing he was they realized how silly and trivial the whole race issue was.

You will always have those ignorant folk around. We choose not to put any focus on it whatsoever. If they have an issue with it, it is simply THEIR issue. I love my husband because he is my husband, he loves me for me... it has nothing to do with our skin color. We are just people! Our children are our children and they are amazing. Skin color is SOO irrelevant! It's such a silly thing to get caught up with. It's like hating someone because they have a differnt hair or eye color. So silly! LOL

Your optimism in this comment made me smile. It was rather beautiful and I wish more people would take your view.
I'm glad you don't get as much trouble from your family anymore. No one could see your children and still make problems :)
Children in general seem to heal things. My aunt's sister (who I'm technically not related to, since this aunt married into the family) is white, but she married a black man. It causes a lot of tension in her family and her father was so mad that he wouldn't speak to her and ended up dying before he saw her first child. I think if he would of, it would have made things better. As it is, 'would haves' mean nothing. But anyone in her family who thinks twice about her choices just has to play with her daughters and it's impossible to even care. (Sorry for the little story, but I remembered this just now since I was babysitting for her youngest today. She's such a sweetheart.)
